Co-founder of IMMERSION
Ruben, co-founder of IMMERSION, has been working in the field of international mobility for over 25 years. Of Mexican origin, he has built a strong network of partners around the world over the years. A passionate globetrotter and deeply committed, he understands from personal experience the challenges and emotions that young people face during mobility: he himself spent a year of university immersion in Nantes, a transformative experience that significantly influenced his path. Before founding his organization in the field of school exchanges, Ruben explored the business world across different sectors. Today, he applies this expertise to meaningful educational projects. Ruben leads a team based in Mexico and regularly hosts French students wishing to experience immersion in Mérida as a host family. He is also the proud father of a trilingual daughter. Always attentive, caring, and committed, Ruben places student well-being at the heart of his approach.
Mathilde Effray-Buhl
Co-founder of IMMERSION
Mathilde, co-founder of IMMERSION, was born in France and grew up in Canada. This dual culture allows her to understand both North American and French perspectives. Having returned to live in France to reconnect with her roots, she worked as a teacher and then as a school principal in Edmonton (Alberta) and Paris. In 2022, she founded IMMERSION with the conviction that young people must have the opportunity to explore the world, reduce cultural distances and develop their understanding of others through immersive experiences. Bilingual and passionate about languages, Mathilde deeply believes in the importance of mastering them in today's globalized world. She has a human touch, loves young people, and is proud to accompany them in what will undoubtedly be the adventure of their lives.
