The high school program in Germany
The student is enrolled in a German public high school:
Gymnasium :
academically-oriented high school, with demanding pace, for students with very good academic results and good German level.
Gesamtschule :
comprehensive high school, more flexible, offering differentiated paths and facilitating the integration of international students.
Realschule :
institution with a more practical and progressive approach, particularly suitable for students with a more limited German level at the start.
Class level is determined by the host institution, based on:

- ▸German level
- ▸student's age
Obtaining a transcript or certificate depends on language level and institution requirements and cannot be guaranteed.
Life with a host family
German host families are volunteers and spread throughout Germany. They welcome the student as a family member, sharing:
- ▸daily life
- ▸meals
- ▸cultural and family habits
Specific requests (specific city, family type, etc.) cannot be guaranteed, the objective being authentic cultural immersion.
Supervision and monitoring
Throughout the stay, the student benefits from:
- ▸a local coordinator, in regular contact with the student and host family
- ▸support from the partner organization in Germany
- ▸an emergency number accessible at all times
Orientation and intercultural preparation seminars are organized at the beginning of the program to facilitate integration.
